I set up my own Consultancy to effect business growth for companies that want to scale but need advice on how to achieve that growth. My motivation was a desire to use my extensive international experience and develop a portfolio of interests around entrepreneurial businesses, consulting, mentoring and coaching.

My career to date has involved over 25 years of working at many stages of company growth and at a strategic business level. This has given me a strong commercial perspective and versatility across many sectors including automotive, financial services, advertising, consulting and property where my roles included working at The Henley Centre (part of WPP), the McWilliams Partnership, Swiss Bank Corporation and Nissan Europe. Not that I believe you need to have sector expertise to add value to a business – the clients know their sector, I bring additional value working with them.

So how do I make a difference? I coach Company owners to ensure they are working ‘on’ the business rather than ‘in’ it and help develop their mid and long term strategy. This also critically means establishing the right senior team to be able to build the business. I work with companies to ensure the ‘Sales Engine’ is at the heart of their growth strategy. I challenge how businesses can get more from their clients and develop deeper relationships that impact the bottom line. In amongst all of this the business’ Culture is key and having helped build a business that reached number 23 in The Sunday Times ‘Best Companies to Work For’ I know a lot about creating a great culture.

Prior to setting up Patricia Bacon Consulting I worked at The Instant Group and was integral in running and building the business from a start up to a SME, growing it internationally over 11 years and securing PE Investment.

Building and growing businesses where people love what they do has made me want to recreate that for other great businesses.

Business Strategy and Analysis

We work with clients to both create their mid term strategy together with identifying areas for review and systems and processes that need to be (re)developed. This involves working closely with clients and their teams to understand where they are now and where they want to go. Our diverse experience across many sectors and growth stages means we are adept at understanding and advising how they can achieve their plan.

New Revenue Stream Development

We work with businesses to identify, assess and create additional streams of revenue that can effect the growth significantly. They include key new Partnerships, establishing Volume Related Bonuses (VRBs) for existing or new client groups, getting more from Mapping the Customer Journey together with launching in to new geographies and market areas.

Customer Journey Mapping & Identifying Magic Moments

Many businesses have never mapped their Customer Journey to enable them to look at all the prospect and client touch points and ‘magic moments’ – opportunities to do more – that they possess and seize these. This is essential to be able to harness all the sales and marketing efforts to further connect with the prospect and increase client conversion and develop retention. It also means there is potential to buy more at various stages of their journey. This is a huge passion of ours as getting it right can be highly financially rewarding.

We work with our clients to understand their strategy and assess what’s required, who the stars in the business are and what, how, when and why there needs to be change. Does the right hierarchy exist that is vital at different growth stages? Is career progression taken seriously in the business – does it exist? Are the team empowered to deliver? What are the KPIs? How are they rewarded? Ensuring clients have a well-oiled sales engine and a leader who is passionate and totally focussed on this is central to the growth and success of the business.
